I have recently started exploring pattern design and I have completely fallen in love with the process of creating patterns. I get to combine sketching, photography, design and my love for details. It feels so satisfying to be able to put all my skills to good use and end up with a product, that in so many ways reflects me and how I perceive my surroundings.
All of this started over on Skillshare , where I took a couple of classes by Bonnie Christine and Elisabeth Olwen. These two ladies are seriously skilled in surface pattern design and in teaching, so I can only recommend their classes.
My first pattern collection was designed for a class challenge by Bonnie Christine and this was my entry:
MOOD- & INSPIRATION BOARD:
SECOND COLOR:
There was a lot of talented people joining this challenge, which made the competition pretty tough. I of course didn’t win, but I did get an honorable mention, which I’m very proud of, since this was my first time designing a pattern collection 🙂 You can read about the winners and my mention on Bonnie Christine’s blog. If you would like to see my entire entry, you can find it here on Skillshare.
I hope you like my designs 🙂
